The Ferschweiler Hockey School is designed and led by:

Pat Ferschweiler - Current Head Coach of the Western Michigan University Broncos (NCHC), 4 year Detroit Red Wings Assistant Coach, Built the Russell Stover AAA Hockey program and served as Executive Director/ Head Coach for the U-18 Boys.  Has trained elite, travel and house players for 30 years.  Played in IHL for eight seasons and is a former Bronco player and captain from 1990-1993.

Jared Brown - The 2023-24 season marked Jared's first as an Assistant Coach with Western Michigan University after spending the previous three season coaching in the USHL and NAHL. Jared retired from a very successful 10 year pro career that saw him play in the US and several leagues throughout Europe. As a smart, highly skilled forward Jared starred at the Division I level for Northern Michigan University. Jared has worked with Pat for the last 15 years developing the teaching techniques used to best develop our campers.

Sheldon Dries - Sheldon is in his sixth season of pro hockey. He spent his first three seasons with the Colorado Avalanche organization, playing around 50 games with the NHL Avalanche and being a leading player/ scorer on the AHL Eagles team. Dries has spent the last three seasons with the Vancouver Canucks organization, playing nearly 75 games with the NHL Canucks and a leader with their AHL Abbotsford team. A three year captain at Western Michigan University, Sheldon is a tremendous leader, a terrific teacher and is always a favorite among our campers.

JJ Crew - Promoted to Assistant Coach for Western Michigan University in June 2020 after serving as the Director of Player Development for Bronco Hockey during the 2017-2020 seasons. JJ played for four seasons at Western Michigan from 2008-12, appearing in 133 career games, scoring 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points. During his senior season, he played a big part in WMU’s Central Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament Championship.
